I can’t wait

Listen Later

I can’t wait

Ever since I was knee high on mama’s leg, still trying to

use a square hole for a round peg

I would get so excited for a party at the house, never came

fast enough no matter how I’d beg

I still fell pretty much the same way; having  parties here and it always takes forever for

the day

Good things spend far too much time hanging out with others,

and damnit I want to play!

I can’t wait

Every time I know something I like is on the horizon, like an

inconsolable kid and a toy he has his eyes on

Or a teenage girl with a mountain of dresses, can’t choose

one cause she loves every one she tries on

I’m that way when I think about you girl! I remember the way

you kiss me and my toes start to curl

Start talking goofy and I get dizzy like at the fair when I

go one too many times on the Tilt-a-Whirl

I can’t wait

You’re overdue for that hugging and kissing, I’m searching

my mind trying to do some reminiscing

Pulling up memories of your sweet love, those riveting eyes

and everything about you I’m missing

Why does there always have to be trouble?  We build a little dream and we’re left

standing in the rubble

It’s time to put an end to our drama, we need to pick up where

we left off, come home on the double

I can’t wait

I know the feeling, when our two hearts beat together

Hot or cold, we don’t care about the weather

It’s always bright sunshine when we embrace

Nothing but smiles all around the place

I can’t wait!

So hurry already, would ya?
