If I tell you that sometimes I have moments where I feel as though I’ve touched or been touched by something my circumstances don’t fully account for, would you be able to identify with that? I think most of us would. In fact, at this point in my life I would be willing to say that I believe almost everyone alive would. We name those moments differently; we explain them in different ways, and sometimes we make things out of them that we even use to hurt other people or to exclude them from some kind of “inner circle”. But what if those sorts of moments are the times when we’re just barely getting a taste of harmony, of the greatest common ground we could ever possibly share with one another and with all that is? What if we’re touching what is REAL, or as we’ll consider in this Sunday’s Talky Bit, what is genuine.
This is an “online only” Sunday, as is next week. After that we’ll return to our every-other-week-in-person rhythm. Or at least we’ll try to. We’ll begin here at 10:45 a.m. with some music and Community Time, followed by the Talky Bit, followed by And Lunch After. I’ll put up the URL for And Lunch After at the end of this email.
Some other details:
-There will not be a Wednesday Evening Zoom Hangout this week, unless someone out there let’s me know they want to host it. If that happens, I’ll ask the new host to post their URL and time on our Facebook page. Check there for details closer to the day, and if you don’t see a new Zoom invitation, it means the gathering is not happening.
-In-person gatherings in homes – If you have any interest in hosting one of these, please let me know. Justin’s household and the Plett house are happy to continue hosting once a month each, but with more hosts on board I expect we could gather in-person more often. It could be a one-off offering, or a commitment to taking on more than one. If you are interested, please contact me at this email address.
