I Get It, Mama. episodes

  • Rebuilding in Motherhood

Sometimes motherhood doesn’t need a fresh start. Sometimes it needs a rebuild.

In this episode of I Get It, Mama, I’m reflecting on what it means to rebuild — as a mother, as a woman, and as a person who is still figuring things out.

I’ve been quiet for a while, & I wanted to have an honest conversation about what this season has been teaching me: that we are allowed to pause, change our minds, take our time and begin again.

Motherhood can make us feel like we should have everything figured out by now. But what if becoming isn’t a one-time thing?

What if we’re allowed to rebuild as many times as we need to? We are.

In this episode, we talk about giving ourselves permission to rebuild without shame, take a break without feeling like we’ve failed, change our minds, create new rhythms, acknowledge when something isn’t working anymore, and trust God in seasons where we don’t have all the answers.

This isn’t a story about having it all figured out.

It’s a conversation about being in the middle of it — and learning that starting again doesn’t mean you’ve failed.

    Maybe you’re not starting over.

    Maybe you’re simply rebuilding.

    And maybe that’s okay.

  • Postpartum Depression: Let’s talk about it

Postpartum depression is a conversation we need to have — openly, honestly, and without shame.

In this episode of I Get It, Mama, we begin a deeper conversation about postpartum depression and maternal mental health.

I share a little more about my own experience as a new mother and what it felt like to struggle emotionally while also trying to navigate the realities of motherhood.

Because you can love your baby deeply and still not be okay.

You can be grateful and overwhelmed.

You can be functioning and struggling.

You can be surrounded by people and still feel incredibly alone.

This episode isn’t about diagnosing anyone or having all the answers. It’s about opening the conversation — creating space for mothers to recognise that what they’re experiencing matters, and that asking for help does not make them a bad mother.

    This is just the beginning.

Over the coming episodes, we’ll explore postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, maternal mental health, identity, support systems, asking for help, healing, and what it can look like to find yourself again after becoming a mother.

If you’re a new mama, a mother who has been through postpartum depression, or someone who loves and supports a mother — this conversation is for you. You don’t have to carry it alone.

    Welcome to the conversation. 🤍

If you’re struggling or concerned about your mental health after having a baby, please speak with a qualified healthcare professional. If you feel you may hurt yourself or your baby, seek urgent medical help immediately.

    You are not alone mama.

  • I’m So Glad I Didn’t Quit

I almost cancelled this month’s Healing Mama Circle.

Life had been heavy. My mom had just come home after a stroke, I hadn’t shown up the way I normally do, registrations were low, and I quietly wondered if I had heard God wrong.

    But I showed up anyway.

What happened next reminded me that God isn’t looking for perfect conditions—He’s looking for faithful hearts.

In this episode, I’m sharing the honest story behind our fourth Healing Mama Circle, the doubts I wrestled with, what I learned about obedience over outcomes, and why small beginnings should never be mistaken for failure.

If you’ve ever felt discouraged, overlooked, or ready to give up on something you know God has placed in your heart, this conversation is for you.

Because one day, you’ll look back and say:

    “I’m so glad I didn’t quit.”

  • I Matter Too.

“I Matter Too.” A reminder every mother needs.

Somewhere between caring for everyone else, many mothers quietly stop caring for themselves.

We become so focused on being everything to everyone that we forget we were a person before we became “Mama.”

In this episode, we’re gently unpacking the guilt that often comes with choosing ourselves, why rest isn’t selfish, and why caring for yourself isn’t taking away from your family—it’s part of caring for them.

If you’ve been feeling exhausted, unseen, or like you’ve lost yourself somewhere along the way, this conversation is for you.

    You matter.

    You always have.

  • Rest, Surrender & Unexpected Grace

I almost thought this month’s Healing Mama Circle was falling apart.

    The mugs didn’t arrive.

    The refreshments were forgotten.

The massage experience fell through at the last minute.

But what happened instead reminded me of something powerful:

When we surrender, God often does something far better than what we planned.

In this episode, I’m sharing the behind-the-scenes story of our June Healing Mama Circle, the unexpected anointing ritual that emerged, the women who held one another, and the reminder that motherhood was never meant to be carried alone.

If you’re a mother who feels tired, overwhelmed, or like you’re carrying everyone and everything, this conversation is for you.

    In this episode:

✨ The lesson I learned about surrender

✨ Why community matters so much in motherhood

✨ What happened when I stopped trying to hold everything together

✨ The beautiful moments that reminded me why Healing Mama Circle exists

✨ Encouragement for the mama who feels weary and heavy-laden

    Scripture:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

  • Joy In Motherhood VS People-pleasing

Motherhood asks a lot of us.

But somewhere along the way, many mothers begin carrying more than motherhood itself. We carry expectations, guilt, obligations, other people’s opinions, and the pressure to keep everyone comfortable.

In this episode, we’re talking about the hidden cost of people-pleasing in motherhood.

What happens when we spend so much time managing everyone else’s feelings that we lose sight of our own needs?

Can we truly find joy in motherhood if we’re constantly abandoning ourselves?

Together, we’ll explore boundaries, support, guilt, and the freedom that comes when we stop trying to be everything to everyone.

Because maybe joy isn’t found in doing more.

Maybe it’s found in finally putting something down.

  • Rest Looks Like Receiving Help

This month at the Healing Mama Circle, we’re exploring the theme Rest Is Sacred.

In this episode, I share a recent experience that reminded me how difficult it can be to receive help—even when we desperately need it.

When my partner’s grandmother offered to care for my baby, I found myself wrestling with something many mothers know well: the habit of carrying everything alone.

We talk about rest, trust, mom guilt, and the quiet courage it takes to let someone help.

Plus, in our Word From Another Mama segment, we hear from a woman in our community on what rest means to her in this season.

If you’ve ever struggled to put something down, ask for support, or simply allow yourself to be cared for, this conversation is for you.

  • As I Am: What Happens When Mothers Stop Performing.

What happens when mothers finally enter a room where they don’t have to perform?

In this deeply honest episode of I Get It Mama, we reflect on the beauty, exhaustion, identity shifts, and quiet emotional weight many women carry through motherhood — often silently.

Following our second Healing Mama Circle, this conversation explores what it means to arrive “as I am”: without perfection, without pressure, and without pretending to have it all together.

    We talk about:

    • the exhaustion of constantly performing

    • motherhood and identity

    • emotional safety

    • selfhood beyond survival mode

    • the healing power of being seen honestly

    • creating spaces where women can exhale

This episode is a gentle reminder that you do not have to become a perfect mother to be worthy of rest, softness, support, or love.

You are allowed to arrive exactly as you are.

  • You’re Not Behind, You’re Rebuilding: The Pressure to Bounce Back After Motherhood.

There’s a quiet pressure many mothers carry — the pressure to bounce back, to rebuild, to “have it together” again.

But what if some seasons were never meant for building?

In this episode, we explore the reality of motherhood seasons that are less about progress and more about survival… and what it looks like to rebuild gently, honestly, and without pressure.

    We speak about:

    – the urgency to “get back to normal”

    – allowing yourself to simply be where you are

    – the fear and resistance that comes with starting again

    – and why just because something is from God doesn’t mean it will be easy

This is a conversation for the mother who feels behind…

and needs to remember that she is not starting over — she is rebuilding from truth 🤍

    —————

    In this episode:

    * The pressure to “bounce back” after motherhood

    * Why some seasons are meant for survival, not productivity

    * Letting go of timelines and expectations

    * Rebuilding identity after motherhood

    * Understanding that purpose can be both God-led and hard

    * Breaking down “the blessing of the Lord adds no sorrow”

    Key takeaway:

You are not behind. You are rebuilding — and that requires grace.

  • Healing from Always Being Strong: Softness, Support, & Motherhood Healing

Yesterday, we hosted our very first Healing Mama Circle… and it wasn’t perfect—but it was real.

In this episode, I reflect on what unfolded in that room: the honesty, the vulnerability, and the deep emotional release that comes when mothers feel safe enough to be seen.

We talk about something many women carry—always being the strong one.

The pressure to hold everything together.

The habit of not asking for help.

The quiet exhaustion that comes from constantly showing up for everyone else.

If you’ve ever felt like you have to be “strong” all the time, this episode is for you.

    This is a conversation about:

    ✨ motherhood and emotional healing

    ✨ learning to receive support

✨ letting go of survival mode

    ✨ embracing softness without guilt

What if strength isn’t the goal?

    What if being supported is?

This episode invites you into a different way of showing up—one where you don’t have to carry everything alone.

🤍 You are allowed to rest

🤍 You are allowed to be supported

🤍 You are allowed to be soft
