Let me preface that I am so grateful for all the front-line workers in the health care industry. I'm going to chalk up my poor experience to the over-worked, under-paid, and all around high tensions being produced by the situation. I think (and I'm no expert) that if you haven't been exposed to someone that has been confirmed or don't show any symptoms, to avoid getting tested. I can see that the workers at my testing site were clearly under a lot of pressure and unfortunately are not operating at their best. The process at my testing site was terrible. Consider the drive-thru option if it is available but know that you'll be waiting for about 2 hours minimum. Also, the drive through was closed within 1.5 hours of being opened.
