Growing up, I truly believed Puerto Rican moms were dramatic. Everything was a warning. Everything sounded like a life speech.

But the older I get, the more I realize those words weren’t exaggerations, they were experience.

In this episode, I reflect on the sayings my mom repeated throughout my childhood that I rolled my eyes at… and now understand completely.

From “Camarón que se duerme se lo lleva la corriente” to the infamous
“Si lo busco y lo encuentro… ¿qué te hago?”

We talk about how wisdom hits differently once you’ve lived enough life to understand it. Because sometimes growing up isn’t becoming someone new… it’s realizing the voice guiding you sounds a lot like your mom.
