I Have A Bad Feeling About This

Welcome to the season finale, where Den and Kat wrap up their mini road trip with David Fincher! Topics include the head in the box in Se7en (1995), Gwyneth Paltrow and Goop, and the usual Fincher tropes. This episode was initially released exclusively on Spotify, but we've decided to re-edit the episodes for re-release on our other platforms due to several requests!

The world is whimsical and colorful and a little sad for today's episode because Den and Kat are talking about Wes Anderson! Some discussion points include Wes Anderson regulars (looking at you, Owen Wilson), the color yellow, dysfunctional families, and everything from Bottle Rocket to The Grand Budapest Hotel (release the French Dispatch already!).

For the last leg of this first season, Den and Kat are taking on a "Director Roadtrip," and they are starting with Father Time himself, a.k.a. Christopher Nolan. Topics for this episode include Cillian Murphy and perfection, why Interstellar is impossible to hate, and Nolan's mainstay actors. Expect a lot of twists and turns.

Today we take a deep dive into a couple of our favorite books—from our guilty YA pleasures to some great classics. Topics include whether or not Fitzgerald was a jerk, plotlines we're still salty about all these years later, and what constitutes a young adult novel. Fun fact: this episode was recorded on the exact date we saw Deathly Hallows Part 2 ten years ago. And we didn't realize until AFTER we finished recording. Lots of fangirling in this episode and slander towards some generally well-loved characters. Disclaimer: We have not rewatched or reread the books and movies in quite a while, so we're going off based on memory. Also, we do not in any way agree with JKR's recent transphobic comments. As Dan Rad himself said, the bonds we share with these stories are sacred and should in no way be diminished because that is between us and these books.

Today we're talking about some of our favorite shows that probably ran for way too long but are still worth the binge. (This episode is really just an excuse for us to talk about Supernatural). Warning: long and winding sidetracks involving every millennial's favorite boy wizard.

We love horror movies, and today we are talking about some of our favorite ones that are "based on a true story." Anecdotes include remembering what it was like to actually watch movies in a theater and villains that look like Darth Maul. Also, we aren't making this up, but this episode's raw file had a ton of weird stuff going on in the background. You can listen to it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NYU0u6cdjWDmGH1xlAtRMqqOMQLBTqIA/view?usp=drivesdk

Let us know what you think. We're both hoping it's a mic issue because I (Den) have now quit editing episodes out of fear, and Kat is trying to convince herself that it's the wind.

This episode is a nice little throwback to some of our childhood's most beloved animated shows. Digressions and side notes include: grow lights, Siamese cats, and Rowan Atkinson's engineering career.
