The day after getting hard news, Sharai talks through a grief she didn't expect to feel, for a group of people she chose to walk away from to protect herself and her daughters. She explores disenfranchised grief and what it means to forfeit something when the circumstances wrote the options for you, and she wrestles with whether it's time to open a door that has stayed shut for almost five years. If you've ever made the right call and still missed what it cost you, this episode gives you permission to grieve it.
After a year and a half away from the microphone, I sat down and recorded this episode without a script and without trying to make it polished. It's a conversation about reclaiming your voice after years of overriding your own instincts, navigating people-pleasing and "nice girl" conditioning, and learning how to trust yourself again.
In this episode I also share something that hasn't been said publicly anywhere before, and reflect on how conviction begins to emerge once you stop letting other people define your reality.
A raw conversation about identity, agency, and the quiet work of rebuilding trust with yourself.
In this episode, I explore the ongoing battle between embracing self-expression and balancing it with selflessness. Drawing from my experiences growing up in a high-control religious group, struggling with people-pleasing, and enduring a destructive marriage, I reflect on how I've navigated the tension between honoring my own needs and giving to others. I share personal stories of learning to set boundaries, protect what's sacred within me, and the realization that both self-expression and selflessness can coexist. Join me as I unpack these dualities and offer insights on finding balance in a world that often forces us to choose one over the other.
In this first episode, I dive in with raw excitement, ready to share a new journey with you. Even though my setup isn't quite professional yet (I'm literally holding a broken mic), I couldn't wait any longer to start. I've always felt like I had something to say, and now I'm done holding back. As a woman, I know what it's like to feel silenced, to be told to temper emotions or tone it down, but that's not my story anymore. This space is for everyone, regardless of what you believe in, as long as you have something bigger than yourself guiding you.
Thank you for trusting me with your time. I'm so excited for what's to come, and I hope you'll stick around for this honest and imperfect journey as I share what's been on my heart.
