In this bonus episode, I got a chance to sit down with L.A. based film composer Douglas Pipes. He was comissioned to do the live score for the silent Buster Keaton film "The General." We talked about his career, film influences, and the experience of adding a score to an establisehd silent film classic. Everyone's favorite future cultural Anthoplogist Kara, returns to discuss the the third movie of the Indiana Jones Trilogy: The Last Crusade. This film like all the original Indy films holds a big nostalgic place in both our hearts. The franchise also influenced Kara's love for travel and anthroplogy. Listen as we reminise and discuss this amazing film!

This is a mini episode on the history of the Ernie Kovacs award and some information on Video Fest. This Year Kevin McDonald and Dave Foley (creators of Kids in the Hall) will be recipients of the award. I'm attending this event at the Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson. In addition to the award they will also have a Q&A discussion Panel and a showing of their movie Brain Candy. I'll be doing a follow up episode on that event.

Brent joins us in this episode to discuss Inside out. This is the first Pixar episode we've had as well as the first children's movie. Brent gives us his view of this film as a father and as fan. This movie stands out from other Pixar classics in that there is no main antagonist and the complex emotional aspect of this movie reaches audiences of all ages.
