In this solo episode, I’m opening up about a season that completely flipped the script for our family—when my husband was unexpectedly medically discharged from the military just one week before graduation.
That moment of heartbreak led us to make a choice we never expected: he would become the stay-at-home parent, and I would step fully into the role of financial provider.
What followed was a journey filled with grief, growth, judgment, healing, and—most of all—faith. I share what helped us through the transition, how we set boundaries that helped us thrive, and the surprising peace I found stepping into a role I didn’t think I was ready for.
Whether you’re carrying more than you expected or navigating a chapter you never saw coming, this story is for you.
In this episode, I share:
A few of my favorite reflections from this episode:
“What felt like a disruption was actually divine redirection.”
“Doing both is possible—but the magic isn’t in balance. It’s in embracing the fluidity.”
“There’s no one right way to build a family. Sometimes roles shift—and that’s okay.”
