i never till recently worried about the ethical concerns around the butchering industry, but if no one values a chicken for example, other than as something that can sell for 3 dollars a pound in the u.s. and probably a few cents somewhere else, then maybe there are people out there that dont see much value in people either. chickens and pigs are born for their meat and then sold for like 3 dollars a pound. they are never seen as anything more than worth 3 dollars a pound. thats pretty sad. i think its healthier to eat meat, but i do think about the crazy amount of cows, chickens, pigs, and fish that are unalived for consumption. i have less of a hard time with the butchering of fish than i do the others.
