I remember the first time I did a Fitness Challenge. The year was 1997 and I was a broken athlete. I was in the middle of Red Shirting my Freshman year of college.
My knees were injured and I hadn’t training with weights for about 3 months.
I had lost about 10 pounds of muscle and I was pretty depressed.
Along came the first Fitness Challenge of its kind called…
Body for Life by Bill Phillips. The challenge was simple… enter into a 12 week challenge, lift weights, eat healthy, do cardio and measure your weight and take pictures before and after.
I did the challenge… gained 12 pounds of muscle and saw a great transformation.
Where I got this right… was I continued to train after the challenge ended.
Training in phases, creating program design, measuring your results along the way ensure for longer-term wins.
This is why I don't like short term challenges if they are not connected to longer term programming.
Finally, this is why myself and my team of trainers work on our clients biomechanics first, improve movement and balance of the body, and train our clients in a progressive way. Building from the ground up.
Laying that good foundation. Then continuing to move forward toward your goals.
