Donald Trump has made his first public speech since his attempted assassination last weekend, telling the crowds he survived “only by the grace of almighty God”.

Speaking on the final night of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the former president's speech outlined his plans for a second term in the White House. Trump started with a message of unity, promising to bring Americans together, but soon turned to his familiar attacking style.
