I Think Speech

It’s difficult to really Know Thyself. It’s even harder to describe yourself to another. And then there are the impressions others have of us. Impressions which are often colored by antipathies & sympathies – past karma... And what is true for me might not be true for you. And then of course it’s all in how we react to the reaction...

I often ask myself: What is more important, our manners or our intentions? Are we our confessions, or our ideals? What if our deeds haven't fruited, can we still claim the harvest? It’s difficult to stand up to the standards of others. Our karma sometimes gives us slack, & sometimes it’s the rope that hangs us.

As we bring Heaven & Earth together, as the dreamtime & daytime merge, as paradise & the underworld overlap, we register the shockingly exhilarating fact that we are in charge - you & I are in charge - of making a brand new world. Not in some distant time or faraway place, but right here & right now.

Starting tonight & peaking on Earth Day April 22 the Lyrids are making their appearance. These springtime meteors get their name from the constellation Lyra, which is shaped like a harp with a tail to the bright star Vega. 

From Greek mythology, this is the Lyre of Orpheus, the harmonious instrument that the virtuoso played at the gates of Hades in an ill-fated attempt to win back Eurydice from the Underworld. Orpheus the son of Apollo & the muse Calliope, being a demi-god, his singing & playing were so beautiful that animals & even trees & rocks moved about him in dance. 

Some folks speculate that this was a former incarnation of Marie Steiner von Shivers, who they also say was the famous Greek philosopher Hypatia of Alexandria – they both met their death by being was ripped to shreds. Perhaps, we can imagine the Lyrids as the 'Tears of Orpheus,' falling down from the heavens.

I think it’s interesting to contemplate these 2 powerful personalities, of Orpheus & Hypatia, who were both standing at a turning point of time when new impulse were coming in, which is what Meteor Showers are a sign.

COMET PONS-WINNECKE has recently entered the scene, although it was 1st detected, no surprise, in early January 2020, at the start of the Corona crisis, but it will reach Perihelion, the point in its orbit when it is closest to the Sun on May 27, 2021, just after Pentecost & the day after the total lunar eclipse on the Full Moon of May which commemorates the birth, enlightenment & death of Gautama Buddha, known as The Wesak Festival, considered to be the greatest moment of spiritual contact for the entire year  - Just a heads up folks, the spiritual world is sending up flares, they are doing their part & it’s up to us to take up the powerful impulses they are providing.

Keynote with Ines Katharina Kinchen who makes her home at the , a small biodynamic initiative nestled in the in the Appalachian Mountains of eastern Tennessee, surrounded by the Cherokee National Forest. Here she lives with her son Marquise, tends to the bees, the animals and the land, and facilitates workshops.

Ines is a Resonance Medicine practitioner, a kindergarten teacher at the Asheville Waldorf School, and the founder of the Honeybee Habitat Project.

What can the bees teach us about consciously engaging with the Earth and deepening our inner festival life? And how does this inner festival life affect the beings all around us?
