I took a break from social media
I took a break from social media and it wasn't scary.
I mean at first it was, but then I got over it.
We have this idea that we ALWAYS have to be available to be successful, that we constantly need to be posting or we'll be left behind, and that is the furtherest thing from the truth. I struggled with the idea of not posting every day. Posting every day was almost giving me my worth.. and that isn't true.
I took a break because I hated what I was posting - it felt disingenuous.
I felt like I was keeping up with the times, just trying to keep up with everyone else. I crave success so badly that I wasn't celebrating what I HAVE done. I was just posting shit just to post shit, and if you know anything about social media, that's the best way to ruin your brand.
hopefully this gives some peace to those who are needing it - just a gentle reminder to take a break. it's okay to slow down.
