As we were preparing to record our discussion on John 14—where Jesus tells us, ‘Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me’—Northwest Indiana was hit by unprecedented storms. 99-mile-per-hour winds, equivalent to an EF1 tornado, left over 300,000 homes and businesses in the dark. The winds ripped down trees, destroyed power lines, and shut down entire communities. Now, nearly a week later, more than a third of the Region is still without power and running on generators. Today, we’re setting aside our planned topic to let the Holy Spirit lead us in a different direction—one meant to encourage and lift up our neighbors. Northwest Indiana, we love you, we’re praying for you, and we are here for you with shovel in hand.
