  • Movie Review! - Unlocked (스마트폰을 떨어렸을 뿐인데)
In this new episode, we discuss the Korean movie Unlocked! Perfect timing with all the talk of AI right? We also get into a small discussion about (HBO) MAX’s show The Idol (you know we can’t go one episode without talking about K-pop), TV Writers Strike in America, and why a second season of Squid Game is happening. If you want to skip all that, we start talking about the movie around the 40-minute mark. Enjoy!

*This episode was recorded at the end of June. When Simone goes on her rant about the writer’s strike, she mentions the actors may go on strike, and they are currently on strike and have been on strike for about a week or two now. It is also not the first time the actors have been on strike as she has stated, but TV writers and actors have not been on strike at the same time since the 1960s.  We have also been learning a lot from WGA, SAG-AFTRA, and how the industry works through official members online, like how little residual pay they make due to streaming, studios trying to use AI not to pay workers, and many more.
The links to learn more are listened to below. If you want to learn more, please visit their websites to keep up to date and find any ways you can help. We stand with WGA and SAG-AFTRA and hope this trickles down to other professions to enact actual change in the world*

  • TV Review! - The Glory (더 글로리) Pt. 2
It's a long one, but we had so much to discuss. The Glory released the second part of the show on March 10th and we were NOT disappointed. Listen as we discuss how the show wrapped as well as further discussions of real-life bullying, trauma victims, and how sometimes revenge is needed and well-deserved. Do you want a second season?
