Tiffani Zeleny tells the story of having a severe case Acanthamoeba Keratitis (a parasite in the cornea). Acanthamoeba Keratitis is a rare but serious infection of the eye that can result in permanent visual impairment or blindness.  After months of battling the parasite, she became eligible for and  received a cornea transplant. 

Even though she was very sick, and lost twenty pounds, she continued to go CrossFit classes on a scaled basis.  And after 17 days of being cleared for all restrictions, she participated in  the 2023 CrossFit Open.  Her results were the best she has ever achieved (top 10% in the world for her age group) as she qualified for the quarterfinals for the CrossFit Games qualification.
