McDonald’s has now been hit with a proposed nationwide class-action lawsuit over its AI-powered pricing system, and this is the story I warned you about in my first McDonald’s AI pricing video. The lawsuit alleges that McDonald’s used a centralized pricing system, machine-learning technology and nonpublic franchise data to coordinate menu prices across thousands of restaurants. The case raises major questions about McDonald’s AI pricing, franchise pricing, antitrust law, algorithmic price fixing, customer data and the cost of your Big Mac, Quarter Pounder and other menu items This is Business News You Can Use from iAllegedly.

]]>Is China on the verge of an economic collapse? China has eliminated hundreds of banks as Beijing moves to consolidate its banking system, while serious problems continue to develop in China's property market, local government debt, bad loans and banking profitability. In this iAllegedly report, 670 banking institutions have disappeared, China's struggling rural banks, the property boom and ghost cities, government debt, weakening credit and the billions of dollars being used to strengthen major Chinese financial institutions. Is this simply banking consolidation — or is China trying to contain a much bigger financial problem?
What happens in China could matter to the entire global economy, including American businesses, consumers, manufacturers, banks and investors. China's economy is deeply connected to global manufacturing and supply chains, and financial problems involving Chinese banks, property developers and local governments could create consequences far beyond China's borders. Dan breaks down the warning signs, explains why the banking system matters, examines the connection between property values, debt and credit, and asks the bigger question: is China's economic crisis already underway? This is Business News You Can Use from iAllegedly.

I want to go back to normal. In this video, Dan takes a hard look at the things we are increasingly being told to accept as normal in everyday life—from tipping everywhere we go and automated checkout machines asking for tips, to outrageous travel upgrades, rising costs, business closures, layoffs and an economy that seems to make everything more complicated and expensive. When did buying fast food, checking out at a stadium or simply going about your day turn into another opportunity to pay more?
This is a candid look at the economy, consumer spending, inflation, tipping culture, businesses struggling, job losses, the changing cost of living and the growing divide between what people can afford and what companies expect consumers to accept. Dan also talks about civility, common sense, preparing for difficult economic and weather conditions, and why sometimes we simply need to ask: Is this really normal? This is business news you can use, with a real-world look at what's happening to American consumers, workers and businesses.

]]>Are we reliving the 1970s? Falling wages, rising energy costs, inflation, expensive housing, higher interest rates and growing financial pressure are creating some striking parallels between the 1970s and 2026. In this video, Dan looks at what happened during the oil shocks, inflation crisis and economic turmoil of the 1970s—and compares it with what Americans are experiencing today.
We also look at gold, silver, oil, gasoline prices, the economy, inflation, interest rates, mortgages, housing, employment, the stock market, tariffs, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and the financial pressures hitting consumers. Does history repeat itself, or does it simply rhyme? The parallels are fascinating—and some of them are impossible to ignore.

]]>There’s much more in this episode, including Boeing, the changing value of college degrees, electronic credit-card theft, rising medical-device costs, California’s new plug-in solar rules and Casey’s aggressive store expansion. The bigger story is how quickly the business landscape is changing—and how consumers are responding. Plus, enjoy the Pacific Air Show from Huntington Beach, California, with jets flying throughout the video.

Let's talk insanity for a moment, For about $1,000, technology now allows compatible vehicles to add AI-powered driving assistance that can control steering, braking and acceleration. That sounds incredible until you realize what happens when people hear words like “hands-free,” “self-driving” and “autonomous.” I look at the rapidly developing world of aftermarket AI driving systems, open-source software, DIY modifications and the enormous safety and liability questions surrounding this technology.
Who is responsible when an AI-assisted vehicle crashes—the driver, automaker, software developer, hardware company or the person who modified the system? With regulators investigating serious crashes involving this technology, this is much bigger than a $1,000 gadget. It is a story about AI, automobiles, personal finance, insurance, liability and the future of driving. iAllegedly brings you daily business news, personal finance information and the stories you may not hear everywhere else.

McDonald’s is using artificial intelligence to help determine what it believes is the “optimal price” for menu items, with customer “willingness to pay” among the factors being analyzed. In this video, Dan breaks down the growing controversy surrounding AI-driven dynamic pricing, including reports of significant price differences between McDonald’s locations only a few miles apart. We also look at McDonald’s new drive-thru advertising experiment and what happens when AI starts playing a bigger role in the prices consumers pay.
This is bigger than the price of a Big Mac. AI is rapidly changing the restaurant and retail industries — from pricing and inventory to staffing, advertising and discounts. Where does efficiency end and consumer fairness begin? Dan looks at what McDonald’s is doing, what “customer willingness to pay” could mean for consumers, and why this technology deserves our attention. Has McDonald’s lost its mind? You decide. iAllegedly brings you daily business news, personal finance information and the stories you may not hear everywhere else.

Another U.S. bank has failed. This one was right in my backyard. Nano Banc was seized by regulators and taken into FDIC receivership, becoming the sixth U.S. bank failure of 2026. I drove to the bank in Irvine after learning it was only about eight miles from my home, and what I found while researching this institution raised a lot of questions about its management, regulatory history, commercial lending and financial condition.
Nano Banc had faced regulatory and management problems for years, including disciplinary actions involving former executives, concerns surrounding its loan portfolio and major deterioration in asset quality. The FDIC stepped in and Sunwest Bank assumed the deposits and certain assets. In this video, we look at what happened to Nano Banc, why the bank failed, what happened to its customers and what another bank failure could mean for the broader banking system, commercial real estate, lending and the economy.
