Hardcore Lives!!!!

The last time I played Salt Lake City, Utah I decided it was time to scream!

If you know me you know I love hardcore punk rock and ska! The music and the people raised me and every time I played a new town, I try to see a show. Well this time I decided why see a live band when I can sing with one instead?

Thankfully one of my favorite SLC hardcore bands were recording a new album and they kindly asked me to sing on a track. They even let me write the verse!

And boy oh boy did I put my vocal cords through the wringer - which is a questionable decision the same day that I needed to be on stage for two shows. But my pain is your gain on this episode of Ian Do: An Odd Guy Doing Odd Jobs!!!

Everyone loves an origin story, and this episode serves as one for those invested in the lore behind IAN DO.

Two years ago, at 39 years old, pro skater Jason Ellis taught me how to skate board for the very first time. I was so stoked on skating that he told his pal Tony Hawk, who got so stoked on my stoke, he invited me to skate with him and Jason, which doubled my stoke to find out it was no joke.

We shot for a few hours while these legendary athletes taught me some of the basics of the board. It was probably my most terrifying job yet: learning how to drop in on a huge quarter pipe after skating for less than a week. Toughest job yet coolest job ever, it planted the seed in my little brain garden: I enjoy learning things with interesting people, why not learn how to do more cool jobs and film it for the world to see??

So after watering my brain garden, and nursing multiple injuries, I decided to make IAN DO: AN ODD GUY DOIN ODD JOBS!

And it was all because my teachers and brothers in shredding, with a little help from legend Andy Anderson, took a chance on an excitable boy named Ian.

So I hope you enjoy this very first pseudo-episode of IAN DO: AN ODD GUY DOING ODD JOBS!

Maine is known as "Vacationland" but on this episode of Ian Do, I'm headed there for work. For my night job I got to be with the best crowds in New England and during the day (Valentine's Day, in fact) I had a date with a true Mainer who taught me how to farm oysters.
