IANR Vice Chancellor Mike Boehm joins us to discuss the new mesonet website!

Sam Skavdahl is a 2024 Junior, majoring in ag economics and plans to go back to his family ranch. His passion for the agriculture industry started from a young age by following in his dad’s footsteps. While eager to start ranching, Skavdahl also appreciates the knowledge and skills he has gained while attending college.

Caleigh Iwanski is a 2024 senior, double majoring in animal science and grasslands systems and plans to pursue graduate school to further her education. Being on the horse judging team at UNL has given her skills that will help her pick out horses for her operation back at home. But Iwanski realizes the public speaking and confidence that she has gained from the team will be vital as she approaches graduate school.

Chaylee Tonniges is a 2024 senior animal science major and plans to pursue a career in the ag industry before heading back to work on her family operation. As a fourth-generation farmer, she has seen how the operation works back at home. Coming to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, she gained networks and experience that will help her when she comes back home to help on the farm.

Charlotte Brockman is a 2024 junior agronomy major and UNL Soil Judging Team member. Participating in the soil judging team has opened multiple doors for Charlotte, allowing her to not only refine her technical skills and accuracy, but also forming professional connections and unlikely friendships.

Grant Jones is a 2024 senior, majoring in ag economics and plans to continue his passion for the agriculture industry and go back to his family ranch outside of Stapleton, Nebraska. While attending college it has been difficult for him to be away from the ranch. In wanting to be home and help with the cattle Jones has also seen the benefits of attending college. With the support of his family, friends, and fraternity Jones has stayed motivated to continue his path in getting a four-year degree.

Ashlyn Robinson is a 2024 junior agricultural economics major and UNL Livestock Judging Team member. Participating in the livestock judging team helped her make connections and form strong friendships on campus.
