3. Access to medicines and medical supplies

7. Health information systems

Civil wars and conflict affect all these pillars and therefore the whole healthcare system. Chris Steyn trained as a family doctor at University of Pretoria, before working at Kgapane Mission hospital in South Africa. Churches and people helpers in many Global South nations are feeling the need to become equipped to offer integrated, psychologically robust, biblically sound, Christian Counselling that embraces whole person care. This talk will present a simple strategy and associated integrative approach to Christian Counselling that works sensitively across cultures and will briefly introduce resources that have been developed to assist this process.

The principles will be illustrated using the work of the Asian Christian Counselling Association and its partnership with Living Wholeness, two organisations which collaboratively are strengthening and equipping lay, pastoral, and professional Christian Counsellors across Asia and recently into Uganda.
More broadly, there will be an invitation to form National Christian Counselling associations so the body of Christ may work more synergistically together in this field, and some practical tips on how this may be facilitated.

Dr David Nikles is an Australian Family Physician who commenced mission work in China in 2005 in the area of mental health and counselling training. His vision is strengthening Christian Counselling across the Global South, especially Asia. David is Cofounder/CEO of Living Wholeness, and Cofounder/Executive Team of Asian Christian Counselling Association (ACCA: www.asiancca.org).

My little book Faithful Leaders and this webinar, is an exegesis of my own depravity. I was provoked to write it after Jonathan Fletcher, a conservative evangelical pastor, who had huge influence in my constituency was on the front page of the newspapers with reports of his abusive leadership. I realised that there were blind-spots amongst a number of the leaders who had been profoundly influential in the generation above me.

By contrast I had also seen men like John Stott and how they led themselves. This is a basic webinar on trying to self-lead and being aware of thinking, feeling, choices, physical health, environment, idols. We will look at a map that enables us to battle our own depravity and be led by God's word and God's grace.

Rico is a passionate evangelist, and former Senior Minister of Evangelism at All Souls, Langham Place in London. Co-Founder of Christianity Explored Ministries, he is a regular speaker at missions and evangelistic events around the world. Cancer prehabilitation prepares the cancer survivors, including caregivers, for the rigours of cancer treatment in whatever time they have before it starts. It employs a multidisciplinary approach, primarily targeting the physical, nutritional, and psychosocial needs of the survivors.

It provides specific interventions and monitoring after screening and assessment to all cancer survivors. It has proven beneficial in enhancing recovery after surgery and improving tolerance to complications.

Bertha Amirtha Deva Rathinam, teaches Anatomy at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal, India. She holds a PhD in medical education, with research interests in global health, integrating UN SDGs into medical curricula, the development of soft skills for health professionals, and the application of technology in education.
Her international background has involved working and studying in Spain, the UK and Korea, which has enriched her and globally informed her comprehensive approach to education and research.

It will explore the science of the beginning of life, methods and statistics regarding abortion, basic arguments for and against abortion, and the Biblical basis for protecting life in its earliest stages. It will also cover some difficult cases often used to argue for abortion, particularly when the life of the mother is at risk.Dr Calum Miller is a medical doctor and a research fellow at the University of Oxford, where he teaches philosophy and researches abortion policy. Dr Miller has published over 30 academic papers on topics including maternal mortality in the developing world, the empirical impact of abortion bans on women, the ethics of voting on abortion, animal and fetal pain, abortion and mental health, telemedicine abortion, academic freedom, and the philosophy of religion. There are many modern myths about how we developed modern science, and many today think science developed in spite of Christianity, but the opposite is true. Modern science has borrowed numerous principles from Christianity.Michael Jones is the founder and director of the non-profit organization “Inspiring Philosophy”, and is primarily dedicated to research in the fields of philosophy, history, and science to uncover deep philosophical questions relating to the universe and our individual perception of life.

He has a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Arizona and has published a plethora of research work on his YouTube Channel “Inspiring Philosophy”. On this channel he compiles and analyzes data for the layman to reach reasonable conclusions to a variety of philosophical quandaries.

Dr James Magara is a dental surgeon and strategic leader with a BDS from Makerere University and an MSc in Dental Prosthetics from the University of Bristol (UK). He leads Jubilee Dental, a multi-location practice with over 30 years of service, and serves as Dean of the Uganda Christian University School of Dentistry.
A futurist and leadership trainer, he holds a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University and has spoken at leadership forums across three continents. How does knowing Jesus’ death and resurrection are not simply a response to pain but God’s Plan A from the start change things?John Wyatt is Emeritus Professor of Neonatal Paediatrics, University College London, a Senior Researcher at the Faraday Institute, Cambridge and President of the UK Christian Medical Fellowship.

He has a clinical background as a paediatrician caring for sick and premature infants and also a medical scientist researching into the prevention of brain injury in newborn babies.

He has always been interested in ethical dilemmas raised by advances in medical technology and has frequently engaged in public and professional consultations and debates from the perspective of the Christian faith.

His book Matters of Life and Death – human dilemmas in the light of the Christian faith has been translated into more than ten languages. His most recent book is Transforming Friendship. He and his wife Celia are members of St Andrews Church in Oxford.
