The Craighead Diploma is a new initiative for the South Canterbury region, coinciding with a change to the NCEA Level 1 Standards that Craighead (and most other schools) has assessed against for the last 21 years. The Diploma recognises not only a student's Academic achievement, but also other aspects of learning and service that take place in other contexts outside of the classroom. From 2024, Year 11 students will work towards their Craighead Diploma which will be embossed in Bronze, Gold or Platinum - based on the student's level of achievement.
We talk with Deputy Principal, Lara Hearn, about the development of and the reasoning for the new direction for our Year 11 students.
