Ida Schuster's Old School

As you may already have seen in the press and on social media channels, our darling friend, Ida, died on the 8th April 2020 at the age of 101. Our thoughts are with her family and friends, of whom there are many, at home and abroad. Ida’s was a long life, well lived, and, as you’ll know from her podcasts, she was vigorous, warm, funny and curious about life – past, present and future – until the end. We already miss Ida terribly, but are heartened by the fact that we have been able to – as Alan Cumming put it in his introduction to the series – share “the wit, wisdom and beauty of this amazing woman” with you through the podcast. 

In this final episode, Ida's friends and former colleagues celebrate her remarkable life and career. We hope you enjoy listening to the tributes, and that you’ll spread the word far and wide about Ida Schuster’s Old School. We think she deserves to be heard by as many listeners as possible across the world, particularly in these challenging times.

"When I look out my window, I see spring, summer, autumn, winter." In the final episode of her podcast, Ida reflects on some of the things she's learned.
