The war is over, we are freed, our future is changed, and our headline is rewritten! This is all because of the gospel, the good news that God saves sinners, no matter their story, through Christ. It is good news for everyone!

Just as Joshua made a choice, so must we. Are we going to be a Christian home in name only, blending in with the culture, or will we be a Christ-centered home? Let’s make our choice: we will serve the Lord.

One by one, the victories will be read and celebrated. The scoreboard will tell the story. But it’s not going to talk about how great we were. It’s going to tell the incredible story of how great God was.

Post-surrender, we walk in the Spirit.  What’s that mean?  We constantly depend on His strength, remain aware of our need, stay confident in His work and submit to His leading.  Guess what happens?  God shows up again.  His promises are there again. 

Our openness to and desire to follow God and to his people is a preview into our future fate. Are you hiding behind walls or gathering up people to protect? 

God doesn’t just call us to things we expect to be called to. Sometimes, He leads us to things that we feel unequipped or ill-equipped to handle. Things way outside our comfort zone. 

Before you take the land, before you move forward, before you fight, do this:  Remember.  Remember what God has done.  Build a monument.  

We don’t prepare for the coming of the Hebrews, but we do live with an eye toward the second coming of our Joshua (Jeshua)—Jesus Christ.  God’s grace offers you hope and a future.  Stop holding yourself back if God is calling you forward. 

The same incredible, powerful force that raised Christ from the dead will turn every “I can’t” into “I can’t, but God can.”  Yes, every saint has a past, but every sinner has a future.  God is calling us forward.  What’s holding you back?  Kill the excuses.  Let’s go!

A new year is an intuitive time to do some self-assessment, to set goals, and to focus on what could potentially bring the transformation we long to see.
