On this week’s episode of the Idea 2 Impact Podcast, hosts Beth Deuermeyer and Jack Manhire talk to Dr. Ashlee Jahnke, who a research scientist in the Chemistry department at Texas A&M, and is also head of R&D at Teysha Technology, a company on a mission to create bioplastics for a greener future.
Ashlee has a unique path to idea to impact. She has participated in both sides–both as the scientist AND the entrepreneur. This didn’t come naturally to her, even though she is a self-proclaimed people person and enjoys meeting new people and making connections. It was when she decided to get out of her comfort zone and dip her toes into the business side of things that she really started to get passionate about her work. You’ll hear Dr. Janhke talk about several important idea to impact topics including:
Going through the I-Corp process;
Generating new IP and how long that process can take; and
Some tips for young inventors wishing to give the business side of things a go. Want more information? Visit Texas A&M University Innovation Partners Learn more about Teysha Technologies and their work in degradable plastics
