This is a longer version of the  interview conducted with Dr. Ben Eng.Dr. Ben Eng is an Associate Professor of marketing at Marshall University in Huntington, WV and specializes in an innovation process called design thinking. Basically, design thinking helps entrepreneurs identify problems they are passionate about, innovate solutions to solve those problems, and then test those solutions with potential customers before ever going to market. This allows new companies to avoid investing huge amounts of money building businesses or products that no one wants to buy.Though it comes in many forms, Eng learned his methodology at Intuit, the financial services software company in Silicon Valley. It’s not a coincidence, by the way, that the Executive Chairman of Intuit’s board of directors is a man named Brad Smith, a native of West Virginia who has invested heavily in expanding entrepreneurship education in his home state.
