This week Lily-Jo caught up with one her backup dancers, Moses Yaor, just before a rehearsal. As a young black male originally from Nigeria, Moses shares with us his journey of moving to the U.K. and the challenges he experienced as a teenager in school. We talk all about coping with frequent moves and transitions, dealing with racial prejudice, and adapting to new environments. Our gems of wisdom from this episode are:
1.) having strong role models to look up to are paramount to feeling understood as a young person and
2.) joining community groups at school, sports, or church can help you find a sense of identity and belonging during tough times.
