“Identity in Christ” has been an ongoing church phrase in recent years. Historically, the church focuses on correcting actions rather than revealing identity. The identity of the believer is everything. Identity is not found in what you do. Your identity is found in who God says you are. There’s nothing you, or anyone, or anything else can do to change your identity. Your identity is established by God, locked away in the powerful vault of being in Christ. For too long our churches have taught "behavior modification" instead of revealing identity. Because of that, we end up with lots of people clueless as to who they are as sons and daughters of God. You cannot have behavior that is consistent with who you are if you do not understand who you are.
