Neelam is a Kashmiri born in England. Her family’s village in Azad Jammu and Kashmir is 2 hours away from the Line of Control. From a young age, she and her family have been involved in activism supporting the struggle for Kashmiri independence, specifically in solidarity with Kashmiris suffering in India. She has a Global Health BSc from Queen Mary, University of London and an MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases, she currently works for Public Health England. She is very passionate about conflict and health, infectious diseases and disease control programmes.
