Hey y'all! Welcome to another episode of the #IDPodcast! This episode starts our series of interviews we did at Accountex! This is a meaningful episode for me because of the topic. Tony Martinez from the Latino Tax Professionals allowed up to use his booth and we were able to sit down and have a round table discussion with my fellow latino and latina colleagues about the industry and how we see it from our eyes. The few latino/a accountants and tax pros that were there all were able to migrate to the LTP table and I wanted to pick their brain as far as where they stood in the industry. We talk about what it is like servicing our clientele and some of the problems that we come across and some of the solutions we offer to their problems. It was a great discussion about what we see from our eyes and how we are servicing our own people.
Unfortunately I did not grab Erika's information but we do have info for the rest of the speakers:
Loyda Moreno, Jonathan Jimenez CPA, and Tony Martinez.

This week we continue our "Getting to know" series from the #latinotaxfest and this week we get to interview Practice Ignition. For those that do not know Practice Ignition is an onboarding, proposal, and billing software. This is one of those applications that I can honestly say helped me revolutionize and transform my firm. We get to talk to Ryan Embree about what is PI and what exactly it does. We are also accompanied by Will Lopez as my co host We have a great conversation about how accountants and small business owners tend to focus on the numbers instead of their business and Ryan drops us some awesome advice pertaining to utilizing these applications in lieu of a full time employee. Hey y'all! Welcome to another episode of the #IDPodcast! I am really excited about this episode because it is the 2nd part of our 6 part series of our live interviews at the #latinotaxfest! This week we have Will Lopez, Anne Arthur, and Taylor McCurdy from Gusto talking to us! What is Gusto? Gusto is a payroll platform that provides tremendous resources to its users. We use it internally in my practice and the majority of our clients use it as well. We get to talk to the Gusto crew about what exactly Gusto is and what they are trying to accomplish. We also discuss the various resources and benefits that their platform has available to small business owners and to the accounting community as well serving those small business owners. We talk about the recent round of funding they received and what their plans are for the future.
This is a great episode because I finally got to meet my account rep Taylor (who speaks Spanish by the way) and had a great conversation with Annie and Will.
If you guys have ever wondered what Gusto is or what exactly they do this is a great episode for you! We have a great and open conversation about it.
If you liked this episode then please like, subscribe, and share! Thanks for tuning in!
Hey guys! Welcome to another episode of the #IDPodcast! This week we have the pleasure and the privilege to present you guys the interview we did with Xero at the #latinotaxfest. We got the chance to speak to Jackeline Velez and Daniel Gallagher (who both work with me here in Houston), Mark Hooper (visiting from Australia), and Jordan Cooper (Senior Account Manager in Florida).
So what is Xero? Well at first glance Xero is a cloud accounting software. But when you start to use it you realize it is much more than that. It is a full platform for accountants, bookkeepers, and anyone in the accounting industry to use. I started using Xero about a year ago and realized how much it could do and I can honestly say it has revolutionized my firm. The communities, the training, the help, everything that they do to empower us has helped me level up my firm.
I get to talk to the Xero crew about what is Xero and exactly how they are helping the industry and how they want to empower the accounting industry and the #latinx community. We have a great conversation about the industry and how Xero has helped us. We get insights from Mark who is from the Australian market and Will Lopez who is a user of Xero and a big advocate of cloud accounting and Xero.
Y'all. This is an awesome episode for those of you guys that want to learn about Xero and see exactly what it is and what they are doing.
