In this week2019s discussion forums we ask you to share your Guide to Action with the MOOC-Ed community and to offer comments, thoughts, and suggestions for others2019 plans. We encourage you to seek out potential partners in your area to join your team and to make these Community Action Plans a reality. By connecting with others in the MOOC-Ed and discovering what resources and partners are available to you, a truly powerful plan for supporting world-class teachers can be determined.

Watch or listen to a bipartisan panel of legislators from North Carolina2019s General Assembly as they discuss the current state of the teaching profession in North Carolina, and their ideas for improving and supporting our state2019s teaching workforce. They share their thoughts on what attainable policies could be tailored for the state, as well as, their insights into the General Assembly2019s future plans concerning teachers and students.

Former Teacher Town Hall Session 2013 Recognizing that the voice of a teacher who has left the classroom is one that is rarely heard, this Teacher Town Hall conversation engaged several former teachers who were high performing in the classroom.

Appreciating that when a high-quality teacher decides to leave the classroom, we lose on student outcomes, this panel of classroom teachers who were recognized as excellent educators but who chose to leave North Carolina2019s classrooms was one of the more moving, inspiring and thoughtful sessions from the 2014 Emerging Issues Forum. Moderated by John Merrow, Education Correspondent for PBS Newshour and President of Learning Matters, they discuss the reasons they chose to leave and what they think it will take to retain high-quality teachers in North Carolina.
