Happy Halloween Ghosties! Here it is, the first part of a two part interview with my other Mom Deb Knight. Deb is a descendent of several distilling families in Orange County, Indiana and just one of the best good people who ever existed. One night a few weeks back she came to visit Kim, Penny, and I and we enjoyed homemade vegetable soup, cornbread, coffee, and maybe a bit of whiskey. Deb brought both the food and great stories to the table. Here she touches on her stories growing up in the Hoosier National Forestry. Topics include UFO's, Dead Cattle, Ritual Circles, and High Strangeness. We have been looking for Hoosier stories like this and to get them directly from someone we love so much such as Deb is truly something special.
A huge thank you to Deb, it took a lot to tell these stories and it is very brave. We think you will enjoy it as much as we did and maybe you or a loved one know of similar happenings and would like to share at [email protected]
We recorded this litterally at the kitchen table using my mobile recording gear, as such the sounds of domesticity in our house are an inherent part of the recording process. To boot, I was getting over a severe sickness at the time and sound terrible, but the content is what matters!
Please have a happy and safe Halloween. A part 2 will be uploaded later this week as well as a bonus episode with Deb on the Day Of The Dead!
I mean drunken little folk who are guardians of alcohol cellars? You couldn't get much further in my bubble! Happy Halloween!
It's all in a title!
Lets dive into some narrative folklore and light analysis related to the little folk and the abduction phenomenon!
Happy Spooky Season!
I am continually pleased when guest who I truly admire and follow say 'yes' to coming on my silly little internet show and tonight is no different. I am joined by Miguel Conner of Aeon Byte Podcast and thegodabovegod.com for a nice little coffee table discussing on Gnosticism and some of it's many varied facets. If you have been following me for any amount of time you know my interest in Gnostic thought and that I fashion many of my spiritual ideas in the vein of certain Gnostic and Hermetic sects. Miguel is a deep diver into these waters and brings fascinating conversations to the wider world via his Aeon Byte podcast, his God Above God web-site, and his Astro-Gnosis conventions. This show is a nice peek through the cracks into a subject and spiritual way of thinking that might hold more alure than the average listener realizes!
He also is the creator of the Gnostic Tarot and publishes a Gnostic newsletter, all of which you can learn more about here:
Hey, its episode one of our bonus "Spooky Season" programing! Get ready because new short episodes will drop randomly between now and November the 1'st in honor of the thinning of the veil!
Most of this seasons episodes will be narrative re-tellings of fairy tales with a few surprise topics here and there. This first episode is a bit different as I focused on one of my passions; Almanacs.
As the publisher of the only and first ever Practical Distillers Almanac and a practicing astrologist I would be remiss if I didn't pay tribute to the history of those stalwart brown paper books so prevelant in rural homes growing up in Southern Indiana and Kentucky. The Old Farmers Almanac and Farmers Almanac are touched on briefly as well as a general history of Almanacs and some Hoosier Folklore!
Please remember to leave us a five star review and help us draw new listeners, I can't express how important that is to the continuation of this show!
The new 2025 Practical Distillers Almanac is in editing now and set to head to the printers in late October for November/December shipping, keep an eye on www.thealchemistcabinet.com for more information!
Tonight we are joined by the always excellent Chucky Danger and our good friend Noah from Bullwarg. As you can imagine the topics are wide ranging and getting the two of them together has been a pleasure for me. The knowledge these two men carry is astounding and to boot they are just all around good guys.
If you guys aren't following CounterCult podcast you are missing out on great information and a good time, check it out here:
We are joined once again by our good friend Chucky Danger for a wide-ranging conversation touching on many topics including the strangeness in the sky, distilling, the Montana Wall, the Olympics, and some of the more esoteric aspect of water!
It's always a blast hanging with Chucky, his knowledge spanning many topics, and we always have a dynamic conversation that I walk away from with a ton of information and insight.
