Hey, its episode one of our bonus "Spooky Season" programing! Get ready because new short episodes will drop randomly between now and November the 1'st in honor of the thinning of the veil!
Most of this seasons episodes will be narrative re-tellings of fairy tales with a few surprise topics here and there. This first episode is a bit different as I focused on one of my passions; Almanacs.
As the publisher of the only and first ever Practical Distillers Almanac and a practicing astrologist I would be remiss if I didn't pay tribute to the history of those stalwart brown paper books so prevelant in rural homes growing up in Southern Indiana and Kentucky. The Old Farmers Almanac and Farmers Almanac are touched on briefly as well as a general history of Almanacs and some Hoosier Folklore!
Please remember to leave us a five star review and help us draw new listeners, I can't express how important that is to the continuation of this show!
The new 2025 Practical Distillers Almanac is in editing now and set to head to the printers in late October for November/December shipping, keep an eye on www.thealchemistcabinet.com for more information!
Tonight we are joined by the always excellent Chucky Danger and our good friend Noah from Bullwarg. As you can imagine the topics are wide ranging and getting the two of them together has been a pleasure for me. The knowledge these two men carry is astounding and to boot they are just all around good guys.
If you guys aren't following CounterCult podcast you are missing out on great information and a good time, check it out here:
We are joined once again by our good friend Chucky Danger for a wide-ranging conversation touching on many topics including the strangeness in the sky, distilling, the Montana Wall, the Olympics, and some of the more esoteric aspect of water!
It's always a blast hanging with Chucky, his knowledge spanning many topics, and we always have a dynamic conversation that I walk away from with a ton of information and insight.
Tonight, we are joined by Savannah who runs the popular TikTok channel "That Witch Up The Holler" to talk about astrology, Appalachian folklore, her publications, and store bought memaw. This show was an absolute pleasure for Kim and I, to be truthful it was Savannah's channel that helped me pull out of the deep shadow work I went through last fall that nearly physically destroyed me and forced me to get back into the root work that I grew up with and start work on the first volume of The Practical Distillers Almanac.
You can check out her YouTube channel here:
Tonight, Kim and I are joined by out sister Kelly Tennille of Whiskey Thief Distilling to discuss the legend of Two Mile Sasquatch as well as other strangeness both within and outside of the world of distilling which we share. Kelly is always a blast and is one of the single most talented young distillers in the United States. Her work with essential oil distillation is also discussed in this episode and it's just a good all around conversation!
Don't forget to check out www.thealchemistcabinet.com for all of our projects and keep an eye out on the Warehouse section there for our Practical Distillers Almanac 2025 coming soon which serves as both a traditional almanac and a light Grimoire.
Tonight we are joined by Brandon of the Tinfoil Tales podcast to discuss the high strangeness surrounding us in this realm! Brandon dives into his highly Fortean cryptid encounter in Indiana and we go into the Mandela effect, including personal effects thereof.
If you havent checked out Tinfoil Tales I highly encourage you too, particularly for the conspiracy deep dives. Check it out here:

Hey guys,
Hope you had a happy Labor Day with the ones you love and got some rest. Life is hard and you deserve a break from time to time. We here at IYHGYHE are proud to give you a little break from normative reality with our show and we love to give you guys a little extra from time to time, thus a bonus episode released the same day as a regular season episode. This one is a little bit more in tune with my personal spirituality and beliefs but includes a lot of historic Hoosier information. Hope you guys enjoy it, and please like, share, and tell others!
Also, if you have stories you would like to submit for narration send them to [email protected] or if there are topics you would like to see covered we are always open to suggestions.

Tonight I am joined in the studio by my brothers DJ Henderson and Randall Janc to explore the spirituality and thoughts behind their faith in Christ and how it differs from the mainstream.
As always a good time was had by all and though I am not myself a Christian I always appreciate the insights of good people into their own faith or spiritual path.
Be on the lookout as well as a brand new bonus episode arrives later today regarding some spiritual events surrounding my recent research in Orange and Crawford counties Indiana related to Old Homestead Distillery.

This week Kim helms the controls of the tiny bedroom studio to host an in depth conversation with our sister Jayce about Orgone energy and her Orgone based business.
Kim and I are both customers and are incredibly impressed by the depth and skill of Jayce's work. We have both experienced the positive aspects of owning such beautiful works.

Tonight I am joined by my friend Bobby Demars of Blind Barrels. Blind Barrels shines a light on craft distillers by releasing completely blind samples from small distilleries to consumers in order that they can really analyze the samples without the influence of the brand, this is followed up by education and the revelation of the brand.
Bobby and I dive into his experiences, some spirituality, conspiracy theories and more. The conversation closely mirrors the type of conversations I find myself engaged in in the distilling industry post events or barrel picks and I think you will enjoy it too.
Thank you as always for your support. We have lined up some high caliber guests for the coming season. I certainly don't see trying to make a career of podcasting and Im not even attempting to monetize my work here, but I would like to see it become successful. My definition of success with this show is the number of listeners who would really appreciate this content as much as I do, so if you can do me a favor and like, subscribe, and leave a comment on the episodes I would really appreciate it. Moreso, if you could share the episode with friends and family via social media and e-mail or with links on relevant web-sites I would be eternally grateful.
