In Romans 6:1-7, Paul emphatically rejects the idea that believers should continue in sin to magnify God’s grace, stating, "By no means!" Paul gives a superb description of the salvation process; believers have died to sin, buried with Christ by baptism, and are called to walk in newness of life. A life that lives according to Christ's will (Gal. 2:20).

In Matthew 27:15-23, Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor, presents Jesus to a crowd during the Passover festival. It was customary for the governor to release a prisoner chosen by the people. Pilate offers them a choice between Jesus and Barabbas, a notorious criminal. The crowd, influenced by the chief priests and elders, calls for Barabbas to be released. Pilate, puzzled and hesitant, asks, "What shall I do then with Jesus, who is called the Messiah?" The crowd responds, "Crucify him!" Despite his misgivings, Pilate ultimately succumbs to their demand, setting the stage for Jesus' crucifixion.

In Matthew 16:24-28, Jesus teaches that following Him requires self-denial and carrying one's cross. He asks, “What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul?” emphasizing that no earthly gain can match the eternal worth of one’s soul

Matthew 16:13-20 recounts Jesus asking His disciples, "Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter responds, declaring that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus blesses Peter for this revelation, saying it came from God, and He promises to build His Church upon that fact, that He is the Son of God.

Matthew 6:25-34 is a passage where Jesus encourages His followers not to worry about their basic needs—like food, drink, and clothing—because God provides for all of His creation, including birds and flowers. The question "Are you not of more value than they?" highlights that, if God cares for lesser creatures like birds, He will certainly care for humans, who are of greater value. The passage emphasizes trusting in God's provision and focusing on spiritual matters rather than worldly anxieties

Malachi 1:6-10 is a rebuke from God to the priests of Israel for showing disrespect and dishonor. God, speaking through Malachi, compares the respect a son gives to his father and a servant to his master, questioning why the priests don't show Him the same honor. They are accused of offering defiled and unworthy sacrifices, like blind and lame animals, which are unacceptable. God expresses His displeasure and wishes someone would shut the temple doors to stop these improper offerings, emphasizing that He deserves true reverence and honor.

In Jonah 4:4-11, God questions Jonah’s anger over the death of a plant that had provided him shade, contrasting it with Jonah's indifference to the fate of the people of Nineveh. God points out that Jonah cared more for the plant, which he didn’t create, than for the 120,000 people of Nineveh, whom God had compassion for. The passage highlights God's mercy and Jonah's struggle to accept it, showing that God's concern extends beyond Israel to all people.

In Jeremiah 32:27-35, God reaffirms His sovereignty and power by stating, “I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything too hard for Me?” (v. 27). He explains to the prophet Jeremiah that the people of Judah and Jerusalem have consistently disobeyed Him, committing idolatry and provoking His anger by worshiping false gods. This disobedience spans from their leaders down to the common people. Despite God's repeated warnings, they continued to build altars to Baal and even practiced child sacrifice to the god Molech. Because of these sins, God declares that His judgment will come upon them, as their rebellion and idolatry have deeply grieved Him.
