The Corinthian church had splintered into factions, even heading to the civil courts and pagan judges to solve their petty disputes! Sadly, they'd forgotten that Christ gave them a new heart, new Spirit, and new Word to guide their relationships, so Paul calls them back to loving Christian reconciliation.
