My People Pleasing Listeners,

I am one of you. Well, I used to be one of you. Wellllll, I am still one of you occasionally. :)

I grew up believing my job was to make everyone else happy. That it was an honor to sacrifice my own needs and wants for the needs and wants of others around me.

Oh boy, how wrong I was. Now that I’m an adult, I wish one of the things I could say to my younger self is “I am not responsible for making others feel comfortable.”  How powerful (and uncomfortable) is that statement?  Listen in as I explain my reasoning for why I believe others can sit in their own discomfort from time to time.
