When girls reach about 9 or 10 years old, something culturally changes. Ramped-u[ social pressure and bullying negatively affect girls self esteem, confidence and future plans. My guests are two moms who head up "Girls on the Run" an "empowering after-school program for elementary and middle-school girls that blends physical activity and group connection with life-skills coaching - creating a supportive space for girls to grow in confidence, health, empathy and community engagement.
Guests are Executive Director Annie Horn and Girls on the Run's Program Director Regina Rankin who explain why they offer this program and how to get your young lady involved.
