DJ Silent wanted to share his favorite Butthole Surfers tracks, some Primus songs, then we move onto some Suicide Commando and 2 oldies from Nine Inch Nails, and a track from 3teeth, because poor Alexis' truck was stolen, send him love. Ending the night with new music from Smashing Pumpkins! Playlist is below.
Track
Butthole Surfers is a band known for their diverse musical style and influential covers such as "The Hurdy Gurdy Man". "Pepper" always sounded like "Beck" and lastly "Cherub" stands out as one of the band's most experimental tracks. Despite a prolonged period of silence, the band's official website, https://www.buttholesurfers.com/, remains active, featuring a distinctive symbol.
Tommy the Cat / My Name is Mud / Jerry Was A Race Car Driver DJ Sakura chose "Tommy The Cat" for this block. It was featured on the 'Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey' soundtrack during the 90s. Moving on to "My Name is Mud" and "Jerry Was A Race Car Driver," both videos were often showcased on what used to be "120 Minutes" back in the day on MTV. Primus still in charge of the opening for "SOUTH PARK" are still quiet active. HP https://primusville.com/
A song by Suicide Commando we haven't featured on #SAKURAUNDERGROUND yet, but it's just as powerful as their other hits. The infectious beat, compelling lyrics, and energizing rhythm make it perfect for stomping along. It's exciting to see that they are currently on tour! Get Down Make Love / Heresy NIN's cover of QUEEN's song 'Get Down Make Love' was featured on the SIN EP from 1990, released after 'Pretty Hate Machine' but before 'The Downward Spiral'. Each album is a milestone in the band's career. Both influential to the DJs! NINE INCH NAILS are still working on music for movies and more!
