
Although it still feels like the peak of summer here in Houston, the calendar does tell me that it is indeed September, which means it's time for a summer concert review. If I had to describe the piece in a few words, I would choose "raw" and "brooding." So, if you're looking for a 1989-ish sing-a-long, I'm afraid this isn't the era for you.
