The global COVID pandemic has increased the spotlight on operations and supply chain management professionals, given the practical and complex problems they needed to solve on the ground on a daily basis.   

With the explosion of e-commerce also, this has become an exciting, entrepreneurial career path with a lot of problem-solving, people management, on the ground impact and tangible results, negotiation skills, customer engagement, and leadership development. The portable skill set also enables global careers.  

We have curated a global panel of alumni working in different sectors, functions and locations including senior alumni in operations and supply chain in FMCG, e-commerce, infrastructure, and EPC, consulting, in India, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Prof. Uday Damodaran has enthralled and instilled a passion for finance in generations of students at IIM Kozhikode and other leading business schools. In this conversation with his former student Hiren Dasani (IIMK Class of 2001 and Managing Director, Co-Head - Global EM Equity and Lead PM - India Equity at Goldman Sachs Asset Management), he covers a wide range of topics including his teaching of finance over time, his passion for analyzing sports, his book shop in Goa and 'Garlanding India' trip and other fun and interesting topics.

Bhavna Nahata is with the MD's office at Future Group, by way of working with the Government of India in the PMO and stints in BCG and Goldman Sachs.

The panel will be moderated by Pavithra Poonacha who is with the Kerala Startup Mission working with entrepreneurs. With past experience in HDFC Bank and Reliance Broadcast and a 4-year family break, she has been through a few career transitions herself.

Siva Harsh runs the AI consulting firm BizAI  Shambo Bhattacharjee, a "non-tech" IT sales professional, uses data science to build compelling story concepts and support the CxO level of clients. 

Chellappan uses AI for HR applications, such as charting progression charts and suggesting job moves for the workforce of a large MNC.
