This week, I'm joined by the wonderful Hannah Brook of Hannah Brook Photography — a documentary wedding photographer based in North Yorkshire who I met (and has since climbed Snowdon, Scafell Pike, and Ben Nevis with!) on the Fay Cornhill Reconnect Retreat.

Hannah has been shooting weddings for nearly nine years, and in this episode she pulls back the curtain on what it's really like behind the camera. We dive into the biggest photography trends right now — from direct flash and Dutch tilts to moody desaturated edits and the infamous "Sepia Bride" TikTok drama — and Hannah shares why she stays true to her own colourful, documentary style no matter what's in fashion.

The conversation gets wonderfully honest when Hannah opens up about body image in wedding photography, why she refuses to "liquify" her clients, and the moment a bride asked if Hannah was comfortable photographing her — a story that will stay with you.

We also get into the business side of things: how Hannah navigated a slow patch, the power of word-of-mouth bookings, and why SEO is her current focus over paid ads.
