I spoke with Dr. Chris Burkett, Professor of Political Science at Ashland University, about how the traditional American Western (movie) represents so much of the American perspective on politics, rights, and the individual and society.

Authoritarian and totalitarian regimes share some traits, like stomping on the rights and lives of individuals, but they are distinct from one another in some key aspects.
