La Salle-Peru alumnus Coltyn Lazzarotto has been hired as the school's athletic director, replacing Steve Hanson. Lazzarotto graduated from L-P in 2015. He participated in football, wrestling and track and field at the school and has served as an L-P assistant football coach.

More than 170 golfers will compete in the Illinois Valley Men's Golf Championship this weekend at Edgewood Park Golf Club and Deer Park Golf Club. More than 40 golfers will compete in championship class, including defending champ Jon Prescott.
