There’s a detail in the Easter story you’ve probably never noticed — and once you see it, the whole thing hits differently. Most of us grew up hearing about two criminals beside Jesus on the cross: one who mocked him, one who believed. But that’s not actually what the Bible says. Matthew and Mark both record that both criminals were hurling insults at Jesus. So what changed? What turned one of them from screaming at Jesus to saying, “Remember me when you come into your kingdom?” The answer is a single sentence — and it might be the most powerful thing Jesus ever said.
