The Olympic Games are the biggest sporting competition in the world. Just as an actor strives to excel in his craft so as to win an Oscar, an award considered the greatest when it comes to film, so an athlete strives to excel in his sport so he can one day compete in the Olympic Games alongside outstanding athletes from other nations.

And they do this for a medal, a crown that will not matter in eternity but as Christians, our crown will matter in eternity. Eternal life with Christ, our crown and price, will be worth it. At the end of our lives, may we win in the greater Olympics. Amen.
