In the time it took to record and release this episode, several game studios have laid off staff while countless creative decisions have been made based on minimizing Gamer Rage. But not too long ago, those were both much less common occurrences in the world of gaming. Mass Effect 3 might not be the first time fan backlash and corporate decision-making have clashed online, but it's hard not to see Gamergate looming on the horizon when you look back at the conclusion of Commander Shepard's adventures.
