Hi lovelies! 🩷 Welcome back to another episode of I’m Just a Girl!
It’s been a minute!! The last time I posted was in February, and A LOT has happened since then. Your girl is officially a bachelor’s degree holder, alhamdulillah, and I’m stepping into a completely new chapter of life.
In this episode, we’re talking about what it feels like to navigate your 20s, post-grad life, moving, building new friendships and community, stepping outside of your comfort zone, and learning how to do things on your own. We’re also talking about the idea of “I’m Just a Girl,” why I chose that name for this podcast, and what it really means to me.
But more importantly, we’re getting vulnerable.
I open up about grief, mental health, learning to verbalize my emotions, seeking professional help, and the importance of allowing yourself to not be okay all the time. We’re also talking about mental health stigma within our communities, faith and mental health, and why asking for help does not make you weak or make you a bad Muslim.
Trigger warning: This episode contains a brief discussion of suicide/self-harm and grief. Please take care of yourself and skip this episode or come back to it another time if this content may be difficult for you. 🩷
This episode is a little heavier than usual, but it’s also a reminder that growing, healing, and figuring yourself out don’t have to happen alone.
Here’s to new chapters, uncomfortable growth, vulnerability, community, and figuring life out one day at a time.
I love you all for the sake of Allah. 🩷
And remember… block party in Jannah. You’re all invited. 🤭
