The writer of the book of Acts proceeds to give a narrative of Stephen’s life after salvation. He was the first of the seven deacons to advance the first generation church. His faith, miracles and Divine overflow of the Holy Spirit shook the foundation of all who heard him. He is said to be full of the Holy Spirit, full of grace; for he had a sufficiency of it for the service and sufferings he was called to. The Lord added to the first generation church daily as observers asked to receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as the group at Pentecost had. This all was accomplished through revealing the oneness of mind, ministry of the Word, gladness, and sincerity of heart. In order to move the first generational church into exponential growth, this group needed to walk with the people in all the ordinances and commandments of the Lord; secondly, they had to trust in whom God had chosen to receive indwelling salvation in Jesus Christ. Each convert clearly demonstrated they had redemption by His precious blood, and who were now regenerated and sanctified by the indwelling Spirit of God. The transitional phase of setting the stage for the New Covenant Gospel had to be closed. The ascension accomplished this. The two angels opened the vision and hope of eschatology, which created a passion to finish their marching orders with endurance. Authentic Christians need to initiate the release of the Spirit within other born-again believers through means of Grace, which is a Divine influence upon the heart. They also need to avoid the demonic doctrines of changing behavior to change the heart. When we compare the word Life with that of religion, we are able to see the message of the Cross.
