“The princess’s king-papa” — while playing outside and enjoying the sunshine one day, Princess Irene heard the bugle horn announcing the arrival of her favourite visitor.

“The hall of the goblin palace” — Curdie bravely follows the goblin family as they make their way through the caves to their new home, hoping that he can go unnoticed and hear the great plan the Goblin King has in mind.

“The goblins” — Curdie’s decision to stay and work late in the mine proved to be worthwhile when he happened to overhear a family of goblins talking amongst themselves. The only question is, will the information he learns be enough to shed light on why they had so curiously gathered under his window the night before?

“The mines” — Curdie makes his way home without another run-in with the goblins, only to wake up in the middle of the night to hear them whispering underneath his windowsill. Curious about their unusual behaviour, he then comes up with a plan to try to find out what they’re up to.

“The little minor” — when the rain finally subsides, Princess Irene convinces Lootie to go out on the mountain, but trouble comes when they accidentally stay out past dark.

“The Princess lets well alone” — another day of rain, and thoughts of her newly found great-great-grandmother, have Irene looking for a moment to sneak back up to the tower. But will she remember the way through the endless hallways?

“What the nurse thought of it” — Princess Irene arrives back in her room just in time to be greeted by her frantic nursemaid. Will Nursie explain why she was so afraid for the Princess? And even more pressing, will Nursie believe Princess Irene’s story of meeting her great-great-grandmother?

“The Princess and — we shall see who” — making her way to the top of the newly discovered stairs, Princess Irene finds herself on a landing with three closed doors. All is silent, except for a soft humming sound from behind one of the doors. Is it possible that there really is someone way up here in this isolated part of the house?

“The Princess looses herself” — trapped inside on a wet, rainy day, Princess Irene seizes the opportunity to sneak up an old flight of stairs and explore a long forgotten part of the house.
