Seeing a predominantly Black hiking group on the trail is not only refreshing, it’s also revealing how racial discrimination exist in the outdoors. In this episode of Dispelling, we follow Destination Hike - a hiking group of predominantly woman of color. In addition, we spoke to a doctoral candidate in parks, recreation and tourism management, Roslynn Powell, who says ridding the American system of racial discrimination is not about giving minority a seat at the table but reconstructing the table entirely to build minority into its management.
