In this dialogue Jesus presents two opposing loves. There is God’s love which shines into darkness through Christ, and there is our love for the darkness which flees from the light.
We often are guilty of leaving God's way for our own in order to make a name for ourselves. We need to look to Christ who always did things his Father's way in order to make a name for Him by redeeming his people.
